Egypt's Natural Treasure

Desert Bedouin co-existing with nature… timeless as the desert itself

If you enjoy nature and the ‘‘great out doors’’ come on a small boat safari to explore a desert lake located in the middle of the largest and driest desert on our planet.

A small boat cruise is similar to the old style African safari where 4x4 vehicles are used for game viewing, while support trucks carrying a luxury camp and the safari staff goes on ahead. Instead, we use comfortable House Boats which are supported by a well-appointed Mother Ships in place of land vehicles.

There is a lot to see and do in many ways it’s like visiting a game park. The lake is blessed with vast areas of natural beauty, shorelines with a diversity of desert landscapes, from hilly and rugged to sandy with dunes cascading into the lake forming beautiful freshwater beaches.

There are an impressive variety of birds, mammals, and reptiles. The lake is also an important staging point for birds on their twice annual migration between Europe and Africa. The predators are crocodiles, monitor lizards, jackals, Hyena and desert fox. Other species of wildlife include Dorcas gazelle, and other smaller desert mammals which inhabit the shoreline and islands.

Our style of holiday is for the individual, not mass tourism, we will show you a much more intimate and traditional side of Egypt.

Abu Simbel Cruise

Next to the Pyramids the temples at Abu Simbel, built by the Pharaoh Ramses II, are one of the most important monuments from ancient Egypt and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Cruise ships travel down the middle of the lake only stopping at temple sites, they are too big to get close to the shoreline where all the action is. On a small boat cruise you will get a more rewarding close up experience of this amazing desert lake.

Itinerary 3 nights & 4 days or 4 nights & 5 days  Starting every Monday or Friday.

Desert Lake Safari

Charter your own cruise unit. A Mother Ship with a House Boats and or Safari Boats. Start on any day of the year and come for as long as you like from 2 nights & 3 days upward.

A private charter offers a degree of independence which many people prefer, perfect for a group of friends or a family who would like to set out and explore the lake, at their own pace and at the same time focusing on what they are most interested in. Because of the long distances involved the cruise to Abu Simbel is a tighter itinerary not allowing the same flexibility as a private charter.

Lake Nasser Day Trip

If you do not have the time for a cruise, come on a full day trip to get an insight into this desert lake. You can come on any day of the year.

You will get an insight into the panorama of the Sahara Desert. For lunch we stop on a sandy beach where you can go for a short walk in the desert. You will also get a glimpse into the way of life of the local fishermen and Bedouins living on the lake’s shoreline and some of the multitude of bird life which inhabits the lake. Return to Aswan at approximately 4.30 pm when we will transfer you back to where you are staying.

Request a PDF brochure called Lake Nasser Experience with info about all our programs, send an email to tim@lake-nasser.com  Tell us how many of you are travelling together and your currency preference costs are in US$ - GB£ or Euro€.

From a young traveller:

Dear Tim,
Just wanted to say thank you, we had a very, very nice trip. My dad thinks the same! We loved our guide, and everybody was so friendly and of course, the excellent food! You should make more publicity for this, the cook was amazing!”
Best regards, Sophia Schröder
