Sight casting in clean fresh water
Targeting Nile Perch with a fly rod is a challenge few fly fishermen have had the chance to experience. This is your opportunity to fly fish for some of the largest freshwater fish on the planet in surreal desert surroundings.
Lake Nasser provides one of the better Nile perch venues mainly due to the clear visibility of the lake water and the ability to ‘sight cast’. An added bonus is the abundance of Tiger fish; although they are smaller than Nile perch, they can grow to 16lb with an average size of 2 to 4 pounds, size for size Tiger fish are some of the hardest fighting fresh water fish there are.

What Can I Expect To Catch? On average the Nile perch you catch will be between 10lb to 40lb beyond this who knows; there are Nile perch in the lake over 200 lbs. The fly record is 67lbs; we expect this record to be broken soon. The problem which needs to be solved is how to encourage and successfully hook up the bigger fish with a fly; with a single hook it is difficult to keep bigger fish hooked up – many are lost after striking because of their exceptionally bony mouths. Our guides know where the fish are and will put you on to them; then it is up to your skill to hook and land them. The potential is definitely there; after all we catch huge fish with lures. Tiger fish grow to 16 lbs and are outstanding sport with medium weight gear.
We operate three styles of fishing safari, each with slightly different options. Or, if you are just passing through Aswan and don’t have enough time you can come for one day fishing.

"I wanted to tell you what a fantastic operation you're running on Lake Nasser. Although it was a bit early in the season, the Tiger Fishing was off the hook, and I caught enough perch to keep me dreaming. It really is such a unique experience to be able to see some of the most important historical sites on the planet one day and stick 20 tigers the next! Your guides, your staff, and the operation as a whole are all something to be proud of. Having guided in central Africa for the past nine years I am impressed by what you have created. Fantastic!" - Peter DeBaun – US Fly fishing guide May 2014
