The Lake Nasser Safari is our most popular fishing safari for anglers who would like to come on their own or with a friend and join in the atmosphere of a sociable camp sharing the facilities of a mother ship. Days are spent fishing and exploring Lake Nasser in your own private live aboard fishing boat then at lunch time and in the evening you meet up with your mother ship where meals and drinks are enjoyed in comfortable social surroundings.

You have two options ….  

5 nights and 6 days: Fishing safari only starts on a Sunday and ends on a Friday
(1) Make your own arrangements to reach Aswan to join this safari. On Sunday, the safari start day, we will meet you at the airport, your hotel or Nile cruise ship and then transfer you to and from the safari start point on the lake.
7 nights and 8 days: with hotel package starts on Saturday and ends on a Saturday
(2) Come on a 7 nights & 8 day package which include all your arrangements (not flights) from your arrival in Egypt until you board your homebound flight.

Saturday:       Book a flight to Cairo and if possible a connecting flight on to Aswan the same day you arrive. On arrival in Aswan an African Angler tour coordinator will meet you and transfer you to the Basma hotel for bed & breakfast.
If there is no onward connecting flight you can spend the first night at the Novotel Cairo airport and then connect with an early morning flight to Aswan the next day. You will be met at Cairo airport by an American Express representative who will transfer you to and from the Novotel and Cairo airport.

Sunday - Start Safari:       If you are flying into Aswan from Cairo arrange for an early flight arriving in Aswan no later than 8.30 or 9.30am to avoid missing fishing time. We will collect you from Aswan airport or the Basma Hotel and transfer you to the safari start point where you will be welcomed by your guide. Lunch & dinner are served on safari.

On Safari:    Six days are spent fishing; you can use your fishing boat for up to 7/8 hours per day, combined with shore fishing close to the camp, at night you can ledger for catfish, which means you can fish for 24 hours…. if you have the energy? All meals and hot beverages are included on Safari.

Friday:        The safari ends at 4pm when we will transfer you back to Aswan for overnight at the Basma hotel. Breakfast and lunch are served on safari.

Saturday:  Transfer to Aswan airport for your flight to Cairo to connect with your international flight from Cairo homebound.

Live Aboard Fishing Boats

There are options for the style of fishing boat unit you can charter for the Lake Nasser Safari. In each case you share a mother ship for night stops, your meals and resting up with a cold beer. For more detailed information refer to Safari Boats & Guides.

Fishing Boats:       Most anglers choose the option of chartering fishing boats which can comfortably accommodate up to three anglers; the ideal fishing combination is two anglers sharing one fishing boat.

House Boat & Fishing Boat Combo:       Having two boats is the ideal way to include your family on a fishing holiday, while they explore the lake in a comfortable house boat, you can go fishing. This combo also works well for small groups of friends; the more of you who share a house boat the less expensive the safari becomes for each person. A house boat sleeps four comfortably in two cabins but can also accommodate up to six persons if two sleep on the sun deck and enjoy the unique experience of sleeping under the desert stars. The house boat has a small galley and there are also on board toilet and shower facilities.

Flights to Egypt are not expensive; they vary so it’s worth doing some research. The convenient way to look for a flight is to use the Google Search facility, simply type in - Flights to Egypt from (then the name of the city you will be flying from). Your flight bookings can be processed on the internet where it is easy and reliable to buy electronic flight tickets direct from airlines; your valid flight ticket documents will be sent to your email address. On some months of the year we operate only two departures but if four or more people book together they can come on a Lake Nasser Safari on any Sunday of the year.
You can come on safari for two consecutive weeks; the cost of a second week is discounted by 10%.

Solo Anglers are welcome:       Pay for one place from the price band for 2 sharing a fishing boat plus the single anglers supplement. You then have the option of using the fishing boat for your own personal use, or we can advertise to find a suitable partner for you to fish with; if we find someone then neither of you will pay for the fishing boat single supplement.
Father and Son Discount:       This has been popular with Dad’s who would like to take their son (or daughter) on a fishing adventure. To qualify for a discount the child’s age must be under 18 years of age. The child or children sharing a boat with Dad each gets a 15% discount from the selected safari price. The Father pays the full amount under the price band for 2 anglers sharing a fishing boat.
Family Discount:       The best way for families to come on a fishing safari is to charter the House Boat & Fishing Boat Combo for your own private use. While some of you go fishing the rest of the family can explore the lake in comfortable house boat. Adults pay the full amount under the price band of the number of family members travelling together and each child who is 18 years old or younger will get a 15% discount off the same price band.
Organizer: If you have a group of six or more adults coming on the same safari the ‘organizer’ who is the 6th person gets a 20% discount off the cost of their safari.
